Kowalenko Consulting Group, Inc. (KCG), established in 1988 by Emma Kowalenko offers environmental, planning, and business and professional  development consulting services to public and private sector clients.


Environmental services include ASTM Standard E-1527-05 Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, historical land use studies, ecological and human health risk assessments, and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) facilitation and documentation for LEED certification for new construction and major renovations. Environmental Site Assessments, remedial design and oversight, No Further Remediation (NFR) documentation, and Environmental Protection Plans are included as are Ecological Management, Stormwater Protection, Spill Control, Environmental Protection Plans, and Clean Water Act policy research and studies.


Planning services encompass all facets of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) studies, subject matter expert documentation and project quality assurance, strategic planning, agency and stakeholder outreach, and public meeting presentations. Related services are Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database design, research, technical writing and editing, and foreign language interpretation and translation.


Business and professional development, management consulting and facilitation services
provide customized mentoring and coaching sessions for individuals and groups interested in optimizing in–house talent and creativity with the goals of business growth and sustainability. Related offerings include RFP design and preparation, formulation of business and marketing plans, hands on workshops in team building, partnering and joint venturing strategies and in how to do business with the public sector, GSA Schedule and minority, woman owned, and 8(a) business certification preparation, communication skills training including immersions in business culture and language of other countries, and networking event facilitation.


Company Certifications: KCG is certified with municipal, state, and federal agencies as a Woman Owned Business (WBE and FBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and a Woman Owned Small Disadvantaged Business.


Staff Certifications: KCG staff hold certificates and accreditations in engineering, geology,  wetlands identification, and asbestos and lead identification.
